Update : May 11, 2021

Mark Rutte and Minister Hugo de Jonge announced further relaxation on Wednesday 19 May. A condition is, however, that the number of new hospital admissions continues to fall.

The OMT advises to only take step 2 when there are 20 percent fewer corona patients in the hospital. The 20 percent is not a hard limit here. Should the figures nevertheless disappoint, the cabinet will halt the planned easing, according to Rutte .:

Subject to the figures, the following easing will take effect on Wednesday 19 May:

Contact professions

The last category of contact professions (sex workers) is also reopening.

Opening hours for terraces will be extended

Outdoor terraces may open from 06:00 to 20:00. This also includes sports canteens. One of the conditions is a maximum of 50 people per terrace, with a maximum of 2 people per table, unless these are people from the same household.

Sport

Adults over the age of 27 are also allowed to exercise outside at a distance of 1.5 meters in groups of up to 30 people. Competitions and audiences are not allowed and changing rooms and showers will remain closed. Indoor sports locations are also opening again. Such as swimming pools and gyms. In groups of a maximum of 2 people and a maximum of 30 people per location.

Cultural organizations

Open air theaters, museums and monuments reopen. Here too, conditions apply such as: a maximum of 30 people and a distance of 1.5 meters. In addition, locations for art and culture will be opened indoors. As a result, music lessons, dance lessons or drama lessons can be given again.

Recreation outdoors

Theme parks, nature parks, zoos and children’s farms will open under certain conditions, as will outdoor game locations such as mini golf, climbing forests and outdoor playgrounds. The following applies here: 1 person per 10 square meters and visitors keep 1.5 meters away.

Education

No later than 25 May, a decision will be made about letting go of the 1.5 meter distance in secondary education.

Travel advice summer vacation

Hugo de Jonge talks about the summer vacation. From Saturday 15 May, the general travel advice to stay in the Netherlands and not to travel abroad will expire and travel advice will follow per country.

Update : April 20, 2021

The cabinet is taking “a risk” by relaxing corona measures now, but “it will not go without risks,” said outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte during a press conference on Tuesday evening. “But the risks must be justified.” That’s it according to him.

The eases:

– Terraces and shops will open under certain conditions.

– The curfew is canceled.

– The advice for home visits will be adjusted: someone may receive 2 people at home instead of 1.

– At funerals, there may be 100 guests again, instead of 50.

– From 26 April, physical education will again be possible more often in higher professional education and at universities.

The opening plan after April 28 (hospital numbers permitting):

– From 11 May, flow-through locations in the outdoors, such as zoos, may be open. Sports, art and culture may be practiced indoors. Possible expansions around outdoor sports are being looked at. The cabinet also wants to allow access tests for visits.

– On May 26, group sizes and home visits go to four people. Cultural institutions and transition locations inside are allowed to open and the catering industry opens for dining out.

– In step four, now estimated on June 16, group sizes and home visits will be for six people, the catering industry will open completely and events can be organized.

Update : March 24, 2021

All current measures will be extended until April 20, including curfews and visiting restrictions:
Curfew and visit restrictions
– From Wednesday, March 31, the curfew will be in effect from 10 p.m. in the evening until 4:30 a.m. Earlier, the curfew went into effect at 9 p.m.
– Students and teachers who follow practical lessons and adult education in the exam year are excluded from the curfew.
– Receive a maximum of one person per day at home.

Travel

– Stay at home as much as possible.
– The negative travel advice for abroad will be extended until May 15, unless travel is really necessary. This also applies during the May holidays.
– In April, the cabinet will start trial trips abroad to investigate how Dutch people can safely go on holiday again in the long term.
From Tuesday, March 16, the following changes applied, which will remain in effect:

Shopping by appointment

– When shopping by appointment applies to stores that two customers per floor may be inside or one customer per 25 square meters. All at a distance of 1.5 meters from each other. There may be a maximum of fifty customers in the store at a time.
– The rule still applies that people must make an appointment at least four hours in advance and that the store works with time slots of at least ten minutes.

sports
– Adults aged 27 and older are allowed to exercise outside in sports facilities with a maximum of four people. The conditions are that they keep a distance of 1.5 meters. Up to the age of 26, sports were already permitted at sports facilities, in a team without keeping a distance of 1.5 meters.
– The municipality can offer more possibilities for organized sports outside the sports facilities.

Travel abroad

– The flight and mooring ban for the United Kingdom will be lifted. The British variant of the corona virus has already been spread in the Netherlands, which is why this ban no longer has any added value. The rule no longer applied from Tuesday, March 9, 00.01 a.m. Dutch time.
– The current testing obligations for travelers from the United Kingdom will remain in place, as will the urgent quarantine advice.
The expected easing will be canceled due to rising contamination figures. However, perspective is offered in other areas:

Higher education

From April 26, higher education institutions that organize self-tests will be able to provide physical education one day a week. This is only possible if the contamination figures allow it and the educational institutions can offer a self-test to the students.

Access testing

Steps are also being taken towards organizing events with access tests. This will be introduced from May. Test streets for this are now being set up. De Jonge referred to the Fieldlab trial events, including in Biddinghuizen and the Ziggo Dome, as an example.

Update : February 2, 2021

Mark Rutte announced a curfew in the press conference. If the House of Representatives agrees, the curfew will start a few days after the parliamentary debate. Under this measure it is prohibited to be outside between 8.30 pm and 4.30 am. In principle, the measure would apply until February 9.

With immediate effect, the cabinet urgently advises to limit the number of visitors at home to one per day. In addition, all people traveling to the Netherlands must be quarantined to ensure that they are no longer contagious. From this Saturday there will be a flight ban to and from the United Kingdom, South Africa and all countries in South America, due to the corona variants that have appeared in these countries

The cabinet therefore concluded that the current lockdown will be extended to 2 March. The situation will be reassessed on 23 February and another press conference will follow. Within this lockdown, however, there are a few relaxation options, for primary schools and childcare and for the retail trade.

Primary schools and childcare are allowed to open from 8 February

Retail may open to a limited extent from February 10th

The curfew has not yet been decided

Curfew ends on February 10. Rutte acknowledges that the effect of the measure cannot be seen after just two weeks. The prime minister does see that it is quiet on the street after 9 pm. The cabinet does not actually want to extend the curfew, but due to the great concerns about the British variant, advice is again sought from the OMT.

Update : January 13, 2021

Hey guys,

We will continue with the updates in 2021. COVID-19 is not yet a suffering topic in our daily worries. To get started; The Lockdown and the same same measures have been extended until February 9th.

Primary education may open again from 25 January, but this is still being investigated with a view to the risk of spreading in children.

The controversial Curfew is still being called as an option, it will mainly be intended to prevent group formation among the youth target group. In that case, fewer home visits can also take place, at the moment most infections take place here.

The economic consequences are enormous. The last savings are now disappearing in smoke. The government indicates that they cannot help entrepreneurs all the pain. Extra measures are being taken on top of the current economic support packages. What that will be has not been announced.

The Measures valid until February 9,

1. From Wednesday December 16 to Monday February 9, distance education will become the norm. From primary education to universities. Exceptions for practical training and personal guidance for students who need attention. Childcare is also closed, this remains available only to parents with a vital profession.

2. Shops for basic necessities remain open. Supermarkets, Weekly markets, Butchers, drugstores, opticians will not be closed. All other stores are closed, especially for hardware stores, pre-ordered collection remains possible, for example if something really breaks. The ministry is releasing a new pros support package, the more revenue loss, the more support.

3. All publicly accessible locations are closed, inside and outside. Think of cinemas, theaters. Hotels will remain open, but without catering facilities. Locations for funerals will remain open, pick-up is also allowed at the library. Dentists and physiotherapists are allowed to continue working.

4. Do not receive more than 2 guests per day at home. Outside of group a maximum size of two, so no more than with 1 friend or 1 girlfriend unless it concerns a household.

5. All swimming pools and indoor sports locations will be closed, outdoor sports such as football up to the age of 18 will remain possible. Above 18 not possible in a team.

6. The urgent advice remains, stay at home. Do not make unnecessary travel movements. For example, if you have rented a holiday home, you can just go there, but stay there. Catering and facilities are closed.

7. Work at home unless there is no other option, at work too many infections are found at home. Minister Rutte indicates that employers must cooperate well. Public transport is only intended for travel trips. Do not assume that it can be done safely, many infections are collected within the working atmosphere.

For the time being the quiet life as we know it has not yet returned. This also brings us to the reason for these updates, namely the target group that currently has no housing. If you know someone who needs help with housing, refer them to Huurdersfonds.nl for an application

Update : December 9, 2020

Just before Christmas and New Years an update on the speech of Prime Minister Rutte. In advance of this update, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy but above all healthy New Year! In 2021, Huurdersfonds.nl will continue to provide support to those who need it.

The corona virus is spreading even faster. The Netherlands will be locked, which means that all places where people come together will be closed.

We all remember the images of the spring, Rutte said. Empty highways and empty shopping streets, the minister would like to explain why these steps are important. He continued with a speech in which he indicates that the virus has overturned companies, the catering industry has been closed for months. People have lost their jobs and even worse, many family members have died from the corona virus.

Every day an average of 9,000 new infections are reported, an average of 60 people die every day. The reality is that more than 1 million treatments have been delayed, caregivers in nursing homes and hospital are on their gums.

In short the Measures valid until January 19, a new press conference will follow in the week before on January 12.

1. From Wednesday December 16 to Monday January 18, distance education will become the norm. From primary education to universities. Exceptions for practical training and personal guidance for students who need attention. Childcare is also closed, this remains available only to parents with a vital profession.

2. Shops for basic necessities remain open. Supermarkets, Weekly markets, Butchers, drugstores, opticians will close. All other stores are closed, especially for hardware stores, pre-ordered collection remains possible, for example if something really breaks.

3. All publicly accessible locations are closed, inside and outside. Think of cinemas, theaters. Hotels will remain open, but without catering facilities. Locations for funerals will remain open, pick-up is also allowed at the library. Dentists and physiotherapists are allowed to continue working.

4. At home not receive more than 2 guests per day, on December 24, 25 and 26, three guests remains the maximum. Christmas thus remains sober, stay at home in case of complaints. Outside a group size of no more than two, so no more than with 1 friend or 1 girlfriend unless it concerns a household.

7. Work at home unless there is no other way, at work too many infections are found at home. Minister Rutte indicates that employers must cooperate well. Public transport is only for essential travel. Do not think in terms of adaptations that it can be done safely, many infections are collected within the working atmosphere.

Update : December 9, 2020

If the number of IC withdrawals continues to rise, stricter measures may be in place before Christmas. Prime Minister Rutte said this at his press conference about the approach to the corona virus. “We must not run away from it if necessary,” said the prime minister.

According to Rutte, we are now at ‘a crossroads’: either the figures are heading in the right direction, so that the required number of IC admissions may be achieved from mid-January, or the figures are rising and stricter measures will be taken.

According to the prime minister, one can take advantage of the Christmas period by staying at home and obeying the rules to get the numbers in the right direction.

The Prime Minister also came up with a trial of theatrical performances for more audiences in January. It is also looking at allowing larger groups of supporters to attend local football matches.

There will also be extra money for young people ‘with a plan’ for special activities, such as a theater performance or making a film. “The OMT will also investigate whether the age limit for training for team sports can be extended to 27 years. Now that is 18 years.”

Before the press conference it had already become clear that the number of visitors that you can receive at home during the holidays remains unchanged at 3. There were proposals to increase the number of allowed guests at home to 4, 5 or 6 people, but due to the increasing number of infections according to the cabinet such a relaxation is not sensible.

Unfortunately, the corona virus continues to have a grip on our daily lives. We also see an increase in the number of homeless people for the less fortunate. Certainly with a view to Christmas, we want to be able to offer everyone a roof over his / her’s head. Do you know someone who needs help with housing? Update : November 18, 2020

We have to take into account that restrictions will continue to apply until mid-January to combat the corona virus. If contagion numbers continue to decline, cautious first easing eases may come in mid-December.

Relaxations are possible if the number of infections falls below 3,600 per day and there are no more than 10 IC admissions per day. The cabinet hopes to reach that level by mid-December.

The press conference also confirmed that the extra strict measures, announced two weeks ago, will expire tomorrow evening at midnight. “Those measures have worked, or rather our behavior has worked,” said Prime Minister Rutte.

Now that the extra package from two weeks ago is not renewed, we are falling back on the partial lockdown that the cabinet announced on October 13.

A few things will change from 1 December. For example, the urgent advice to wear a mouth mask in public spaces is then converted into a legal obligation. Furthermore, as of December 1, it is also the intention that everyone who appears to have been in contact with an infected person has themselves tested, even without complaints.

De Jonge also discussed the declining willingness of people to get vaccinated. “People are concerned about the speed at which the vaccine is being developed, but if it is not safe and effective, it will not be approved,” said the minister. “All the processes that normally take place in sequence are now running in parallel. faster.”

With the amended measures, more ease is already in sight, but there remains a target group that still has trouble finding accommodation. Are you or do you know someone who needs help with this? Take a look at Huurdersfonds.nl

Update : November 7, 2020

New measures were announced last Tuesday.

According to prime minister Mark Rutte, the cabinet thought before the weekend that new corona measures would only be necessary in the three major cities, but it soon realized that the situation was “serious” in many more places. Hence, tough intervention with national measures is inevitable. “The number of infections is increasing so fast that we are in danger of running after viruses. That is why we keep going to get out of the virus again. ”

The measurements:

* Not an audience for sports, both for amateurs and professionals.

* Food and beverage outlets will have a walk-in stop at 9 PM and close at 10 PM.

* At “flow-through locations” (museum, library, shops, zoo), reservations must be made in a time slot and a maximum number of visitors applies. This maximum is determined by the security region.

* Working from home is the norm: work at home, unless there really is no other option. If there is an infection in the office, such a workplace can be closed for 14 days

* You may receive a maximum of three visitors at home. Children under the age of 13 are not included.

* Outside your own home you can meet with a maximum of four people, outside your own family
Outside, a maximum of 40 people applies.

* A maximum of 30 people applies per indoor space.

* No changes in education

* Shops in the security regions around Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague are allowed to ask people to wear a mouth mask and refuse visitors who flout it.

* There will be registration for contact professions, such as hairdressers, dentists and the catering industry.

* Sports canteens are closing.

* It is urged to travel as little as possible to and from Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague.

The measures will be evaluated on Tuesday 20 October.
The measures will take effect on Tuesday 6 p.m.

Update: October 13, 2020

From 10 p.m. tomorrow evening, a number of robust measures will be taken to combat the corona virus. Prime Minister Mark Rutte just announced this during a press conference.

The new measures are being introduced due to the rapidly increasing number of infections. They must ensure that contacts and travel movements are limited, so that the number of infections is further reduced.

“We will have to keep this up for at least four weeks,” said Minister De Jonge. “We will take stock in two weeks. If it is not good enough, a total lockdown is inevitable. But that should not be necessary. We can do it ourselves.”

  • In addition to the closure of catering establishments, the cabinet is calling on people to limit contacts and to stay at home. Shopping evenings in the Netherlands will be limited, but not abolished. Shops may be open until 8 p.m. and supermarkets may stay open longer.
  • Working from home as much as possible remains the norm. If you do not have a vital profession, you will be asked to work from home. Moreover, people are asked to make only necessary journeys.
  • In addition, meetings may be held with a maximum of 30 people. “I would like to add that not everything that is allowed formally is also necessary,” said Rutte.
  • A maximum of three people may be invited at home, and a maximum of one group per day. “So don’t celebrate a birthday with other guests every hour. The fact is, a large part of the infections is passed on behind the front door”.
  • The new measures are difficult for all target groups. We hope that everyone adheres to this and remains safe, the sooner we can live and move normally again (as far as possible).

If these measures affect you economically, and especially in the field of housing, we advise you to consult Huurdersfonds.nl and see if you are eligible for help

Update : October 13, 2020

A number of tough measures will be taken to combat the corona virus from 10 p.m. tomorrow evening. Prime Minister Mark Rutte just announced this during a press conference.

The new measures are being introduced because of the rapidly increasing number of infections. They must ensure that contacts and travel movements are limited, so that the number of infections is further reduced.

“We will have to maintain this for at least four weeks,” said Minister De Jonge. “We will take stock in two weeks. If it is not good enough, a total lockdown is inevitable. But that should not be necessary. We can do it ourselves.”

A maximum of three people may be invited at home, and a maximum of one group per day. “So don’t celebrate a birthday with different guests every hour. The fact is, a large part of the infections is passed on behind the front door”.

The new measures are difficult for all target groups. We hope that everyone adheres to this and remains safe, the sooner we can live and move normally again (as far as possible).

If these measures affect you economically, and especially in the field of housing, we recommend that you consult Huurdersfonds.nl and see if you are eligible for help

Update : September 29, 2020

Before the weekend, the cabinet thought that new corona measures would only be needed in the three major cities, but it soon realized that the situation was “serious” in many more places. According to the prime minister, tough intervention with national measures is therefore inevitable. “The number of infections is increasing so fast that we are in danger of running after viruses. That is why we keep going, to get out for the virus again. ”

Just now that the measures are being tightened again, we would like to point out to the less fortunate to make use of the Huurdersfonds.nl when deportation or homelessness threatens. See if you qualify for housing

When you go on a viewing and in general, please observe the following measures.

The measures:
* No audience for sports, both for amateurs and professionals.
* Food and beverage outlets will have a walk-in stop at 9:00 PM and close at 10:00 PM. ‘(museum, library, shops, zoo) must be reserved in a time slot and a maximum number of visitors applies. This maximum is determined by the security region.

* There will be a registration for contact professions, such as hairdressers, dentists and catering.
* Sports canteens will be closed.
* There is an appeal to travel as little as possible to and from Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague.
* The measures will be evaluated on Tuesday, October 20.
* The measures will start on Tuesday, 6 pm.

It is a difficult time, but above all let us look out for each other, adhere to the measures below and above all stay safe and healthy!

Update : Augustus 18, 2020

Everyone hoped that it could be announced on September 1 that the measures could be furthermore lay down, but this will (also) be canceled. “The figures give no reason to do so,” said the prime minister.

However, the quarantine period will soon be shortened, which will now be ten days instead of fourteen. In the meantime, it is being investigated whether a quarantine can be made mandatory. “With current legislation, this is already possible, together with the mayors of the security regions it is being investigated how this can be done.”

Celebrate a party at home? With a maximum of six people (not including children), give guests a permanent seat and check if everyone is free of complaints and congratulate remotely. “It doesn’t make a dinner or birthday any more fun, but it is no different,” says Rutte. “This is no time to bake sweet cookies.”

The fact that corona infections have continued to increase since the last press conference two weeks ago, which was also full of warnings, is very worrying. “If we are not careful, we will be back to square one in the foreseeable future. Back to overburdened care, back to locked up land, back to where we don’t want to be. ”

Where things go terribly wrong according to the Outbreak Management Team (OMT) are the parties in the private sphere. There people feel unjustifiably safe and there is some hugging and kissing and therefore not kept a meter and a half away, and that can be seen in the rising corona numbers. If you want to celebrate a party, rent a room, the prime minister emphasizes.

Update : Augustus 6, 2020

Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Hugo de Jonge held a press conference tonight on 6 August. They announced a number of new measures. A.o. for upcoming student introductions and for the hospitality industry. Safety regions can take local measures. View the updated measures here

Fortunately, many people still follow the basic rules. But what is worrying is that there are also a lot of people who do not do this. This is reflected in the recent outbreaks.

The most important thing is that we all regain control of the virus. It is crucial that we keep 1.5 meters away from others and follow the ground rules. Also at home. Right at home. Take into account the number of guests that you can receive at home at 1.5 meters. Make sure your guests can adhere to hygiene measures. No hugs, no side by side on the couch. It is precisely in the home situation that many people turn out to be infected.

Update : June 1, 2020

Finally, the adjusted measures

First, freshen up the guidelines:

You still have to keep 1.5 meter distance and you should not shake hands. You stay at home with a cold and your roommates stay home with a fever or breathlessness.

When you go outside you should avoid busy places as much as possible. In addition, you should regularly wash your hands with soap and water. You sneeze and cough in your elbow and everyone works from home as much as possible.

Which measures are adjusted?

  1. There is no longer a limit to the number of people you receive at home.
  1. Outdoors: avoid crowds and take your own responsibility. Group formation is now permitted with more than two people, if one and a half meters are kept apart.
  1. The public transport only runs for necessary journeys. In addition, it is mandatory to wear a mouth mask.
  1. Bars, restaurants and cafes can open their doors again, but under strict conditions. Reservations for a table or room are mandatory
  1. Theaters, cinemas and concert halls open their doors again, but with a maximum of thirty people per room
  1. High school students return to school partly on Tuesday, June 2nd under certain conditions. Pupils must keep their distance from each other and from the teacher.

With these measures, the search for a long-term rental home is already made easier. You can again enjoy the things you were used to do.
